Job description
Not all speech pathology roles are the same. This one is built around feeding. At Eat Speak Learn, feeding is a core part of our work — not a niche add-on. We are a paediatric allied health clinic bringing together Speech Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Dietitians and Exercise Physiologists to provide thoughtful, evidence-based care for children and their families.
We're looking for a Speech Pathologist with an interest in paediatric feeding. Whether you've already had some experience or you're keen to build your skills in this space, we offer a structured and supported pathway to help you grow.
This role can be tailored to suit the right candidate. For clinicians seeking a part-time position, the caseload can be predominantly feeding-focused. For those looking for a full-time role, the caseload is likely to include a combination of paediatric feeding and broader speech pathology presentations, allowing you to develop expertise in feeding while maintaining a diverse clinical skillset.
This is a predominantly feeding-focused caseload, working with children presenting with a range of feeding challenges, including:
- Fussy eating and restricted diets
- Oral motor and sensory-based feeding difficulties
- More complex feeding presentations
Depending on your preferred hours and experience, your caseload may also include broader paediatric speech pathology presentations such as:
- Speech sound disorders
- Language delays and disorders
- Early communication development
- Social communication challenges
You'll be:
- Conducting assessments and developing tailored therapy plans
- Supporting families with practical strategies that lead to meaningful change at mealtimes
- Delivering evidence-based intervention that reflects each child's individual needs
- Working closely with our multidisciplinary team to provide well-rounded care
- Tracking progress in ways that reflect meaningful real-world outcomes
We offer a supported development plan designed to build your confidence and clinical skills in paediatric feeding through:
- Case discussions and clinical reasoning support
- Review of current research and evidence-based practice
- Appointment shadowing and observation opportunities
- Dedicated professional development and learning hours
- Ongoing mentoring from experienced clinicians
You'll be part of a team that:
- Regularly reflects on practice and shares knowledge
- Values thoughtful clinical reasoning over a one-size-fits-all approach
- Supports each other through mentoring and collaboration
- Creates space for ongoing learning and professional growth
Day-to-day, this looks like:
- Working collaboratively across disciplines to achieve high-quality outcomes
- Being part of a team that shows up with professionalism, care and consistency
- Building strong relationships with children, families and colleagues
- Contributing to a positive and supportive clinic culture
- Recognising and celebrating progress — both big and small
We operate within the NDIS and have taken a considered, proactive approach to sector changes, ensuring our model remains sustainable and focused on delivering consistent, high-quality care for families.
You will:
- Be a qualified Speech Pathologist with Speech Pathology Australia registration
- Have an interest in paediatric feeding (experience highly regarded but not essential)
- Be open to developing your skills in a focused area of practice
- Enjoy working as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Have strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Hold (or be willing to obtain) a Working With Vulnerable People Card / Working With Children Check
What We Offer
- Flexible full-time or part-time options
- The opportunity to shape a role that aligns with your interests and career goals
- Competitive salary with flexibility based on experience and preferences
- Structured mentoring and career development pathways
- Dedicated professional development support
- A well-resourced clinic environment with minimal travel requirements
- Regular multidisciplinary collaboration
- A supportive, engaged and values-driven team culture
- Opportunities to develop expertise in paediatric feeding while maintaining broader clinical skills
